JUNIOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT

THE JOB:

Our Ridgeline Environment division is currently seeking Junior Environmental Consultants based out of or within an hour of Swift Current, SK. These areas include: Swift Current, Maple Creek, Shaunavon, Gull Lake, and Moose Jaw. You will have a diverse skill set and experience with Pre-Construction, Remediation and Reclamation projects. You will work in a team to ensure project requirements are completed safely and efficiently, and provide cost-effective solutions while providing our clients high quality of work while maintaining professional ethics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executing scopes of work and cost estimates under the Project Manager’s supervision

  • Ensuring project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner

  • Participating in technical and safety programs, quality assurance and quality control

  • Assisting with Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments

  • Completing detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring

  • Coordinating and supervising reclamation projects

  • Managing and meeting all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, directives and SOP’s

  • Implementing internal and client safety programs

  • Remaining current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, providing updated information as it becomes available

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation or similar discipline;

  • Professional designation or articling to obtain is considered an asset;

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant field experience;

  • Knowledge of the water act and experience with wetland classification an asset

  • Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines and the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines an asset

  • Understanding of the upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB, BC

  • Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands

  • Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills

  • Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Valid Pesticide Applicators License an asset

  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills and is very detail oriented and organized

  • Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget
